Paper Marbling Collage

Let me start by saying I had very low expectations for this project. I knew that I wanted to do some sort of collage with the pictures my daughter painted, but did not expect them to turn out this beautiful! I purchased this paper marbling kit on sale at Target. There are similar ones on Amazon and craft stores, but in my opinion, this one can’t be beat for the price and ease of use. I set it up for her on cardboard thinking that it would be messy, but it wasn’t at all. I let her squirt the paint in and make designs with the tools provided and then I had her count while I dipped the paper in.

We set everything on the counter to dry overnight. Make sure that it is not on wood because moisture does condensate underneath them during the drying process!

I  knew that I was going to use this frame purchased from Khols, so I used a paper cutter to cut all of the squares to  4” x 4”.  I placed them on the table and let my daughter arrange them in the order she wanted and then taped them to the back of the mat with painters tape. I am SO happy with the end result and it is the perfect addition to our playroom! I will note that I opted to use a plastic frame vs. a glass one. I think glass would look more polished, but if there is a chance that a ball (or anything else a kid throws) will hit it, plastic frames are the way to go!
