A Perfectly-Pink Party!
I mean…could this be any more girly?!
For my daughter’s first birthday party we threw a huge bash complete with an ice cream truck, water slide, and invited EVERYONE. It was great, but just…too much. The next year I found myself wanting to do something more simple and girly. I couldn’t think of a theme at first because, well, two-year-olds don’t really have a preference, so I went with pink. I am acutely aware of how neutral our home is, so the first step was to find a pink house, and boy did I find one! This beauty was available and happens to be located in Nashville, Tennessee which is not to far from us.
I booked it and went to work searching for everything (and I mean everything) pink! For the cake, I asked a local bakery to just go wild with the color and they far exceeded my expectations. Not only was it adorable, but it was SO yummy!
You can guess how energetic she was after all of this sugar!
I had purchased balloons, cotton candy, confetti, and the drinks prior to our road trip and set it up with what the hosts had in the house. It *might* have taken me ten minutes, even though it looks like it took much longer! I also did something I recommend to everyone throwing a party and that is to “shop” your own home. I tossed everything I thought would match the theme (stuffed animals, books, bows, toothbrush…) into a bag and could have gotten a lot more! This adds a beautiful touch to the pictures and costs nothing.
I purchased us matching jammies and t-shirts and that was pretty much it! We watched Troop Beverly Hills, took a bubble bath, played with sparklers and listened to LOTS of Taylor Swift.
I can honestly say that even after several years and birthday parties later, this is HANDS DOWN my favorite. It was relaxed, uber cute, and made for a fun memory for our little family!
