Coca-Cola Crate Repurposed
When we moved into our house, the previous owners left a lot of stuff behind. Most of it was junk (enough to fill up two dumpsters), but there were a few items that I thought were worth saving! This was a catch all for miscellaneous items and had clearly been left to collect dust for many years. I cleaned it up and had been thinking about what I wanted to do with it for a couple of days when my oldest daughter asked to draw with chalk. As I drug out the full chalk bucket I thought, that’s it! We will make a cart for her chalk!
As you can see, even though I cleaned it, it was still quite rustic. I ordered these cart wheels from Amazon and screwed them on the bottom and that was it. Such a quick and fun little project! One thing I will note is that if you use an antique milk crate such as this, you might need to lightly sand the interior to prevent splinters if you or your kids will be reaching into it. Another option if you don’t have access to antiques or don’t like the rustic look, you can purchase a regular crate from any craft store and paint it however you like!
